I was relieved they came back into production and I got one just in time for my newly acquired foster dog.
It works so well with our original set up and it is easy to untangle the two leashes.
One happy human and two happy retired sled dogs!
It has been wonderful with all the hand holds as we March around in our 41 inches of snow in Anchorage, AK!
Hi Sarah, Thank you for providing your feedback. We’re so glad to hear that you and your “retired” pups are enjoying your new gear in the fresh snow! Thank you so much again for the photo.
I don’t normally leave reviews, ever. But I wanted to get 2 new leashes for my dogs and I even waited on them to become available - that’s how worth it they are. I bought my first leash maybe 10 years ago from Iron Doggy and it is still in fantastic shape - the bungee never lost its strength, loops and connections are all still intact and strong, the only difference is that it has been used a lot so some of the edging has frayed from skidding along the ground at times. In between waiting for this leash to be available again, I bought another one from another site. They aren’t even in the same category. The other leash doesn’t feel strong and has too much bungee. I have 2 Aussies and they are strong puppies (1&2yr old) and the handles on these leashes are so helpful to quickly make the length shorter when I need it and the loop connections work great for connecting the 2 dogs together. I wanted to have 2 because previously I only had one and one dog for almost 12 yrs. I got 2 this time and I’m so glad I finally got them!! I can’t say enough good about these leashes and I tell anyone looking for a solid leash and/running leash all about these leashes. I have never found any other leash that compares - like not even close. In addition, I know when I first purchased I needed a running leash, but what I got was unexpected. 10 years and I still use it on my next generation of dogs! The 2 yr old pup and I have used the belt (same one from original purchase which has never let me down - strong belt & connection and has never popped open unintentionally) and leash for running which is also super convenient to hook the extra leash that I don’t need when we are running closer together. Best hands free trustable running leash, along with strongest most versatile and durable leash I have ever owned.
If above is too long for you to read, just know that you will not only get your moneys worth with this leash, but you will get longevity and strength throughout the years that remains from day 1. These leashes do not disappoint and are absolutely outstanding for any use! Resilient and dependable, you can’t go wrong here. And if you have more than one dog, even better! If you pass up on this leash, you will never meet another that you get your moneys worth and the test or time. I absolutely love these!! Highly recommend!!!

Hi Lilah, Thank you for taking time to provide your feedback. Wow! We’re glad to hear that you and your two Aussies are enjoying your new gear (and that your gear has lasted so long). Thank you so much again!
I like this shorter version of the Iron Doggy leash, because my dogs are into leg macrame and tangling sister into a spider web as they run. I have a couple of waist/joring belts so bought the leashes only. I had been adding a section of bungee to other leashes, but the weight of the snap in the middle of the leash was not ideal. These are perfect, lightweight with a good amount of stretch. I have a short handle I add when I don't want to do the waist method. My other leashes are hanging lonely now, it's sad.
Hi Deborah, Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear about your “other leashes.” We're super happy to hear that you and your pups are enjoying your new gear. Thank you so much again!
We bought this leash when our beloved dog, Neville, was a puppy because he was such a hellion that I had to take up running. I was taking him on 5k runs every morning just to get his energy down to a manageable level. We clocked hundreds of kilometers on this leash, running, hiking, and going to the store.
This leash has been with Nev all the way to outback Australia, where we lived for 2 years, and from coast to coast in Canada. Harsh winters in Canada and boiling summers in Australia, this thing has literally never failed us. Neville is now 8.5 years old. He’s a little greyer around the face, but though he looks more distinguished, he’s still just as much of a hellion who requires daily walks if we’d like to avoid large bouts of sulking from him.
A few weeks ago, after over SEVEN YEARS (!!!) the little lever to hook and unhook the leash finally broke, (after a TON of abuse over the years) and I didn’t hesitate for one second to immediately order a new leash from Iron Doggy.
Thanks, Iron Doggy, for the gift of many miles within my best buddy, and hopefully many more :)
Haley, Thank you so much for taking time to provide your feedback. We're happy to hear that you and your pup Neville have been able to put the miles on together with your gear! Thank you so much again for letting us know about all your adventures in Australia and Canada!
This is my second handsfree leash from Iron Doggy. My first one was still in great shape after 5 years of use until my new pup destroyed it by chewing it (my mistake). I’ve used the belt and leash for running with a previous dog and now, hiking with my current young dog. This is great for hiking because the D ring adjusts for different leash lengths (depending on the terrain and people on trails). I have used this leash for running, however I prefer the shorter leash (Sidekick) because I liked my dog running close aside. The bungee adds a bit of give (recommended by my dog trainer), and the built in handles allow for quick adjustment of leash length and control. Overall, superior quality and workmanship, great customer service and function.
Thank you for your feedback. We're happy to hear that you and your German Shepherd are enjoying your runs and hikes together (and that you had your previous leash for over five years)! Thank you so much for letting us know.
