Runner's Choice Hands Free Dog Leash (with belt)

We designed this hands-free dog leash to take the shock out of those predictably unpredictable lunges, pulls and abrupt changes of direction. This is no accidental accident prevention, we deliberately built the Runner's Choice with bungee that has a minimum breaking strength of 215 pounds. That might sound excessive, but if you’re ever on the wrong end of a big dog chasing a speeding squirrel you’ll appreciate every ounce of that strength.

We take the materials and craftsmanship of our products very seriously. Built by hand in Denver, Colorado, this running leash for dogs is built to last.

  • Webbing: Military Spec to minimize wear and tear
  • Bungee: Marine Grade will stand the test of time
  • Length: 54" (adjusts to 46" and 30")
  • Weight: 7.04 oz.

Round 2...best leashes ever

I bought two runners leashes something like SIX, maybe 7, years ago for my two 45 lb dogs. We ran, we walked, I used those leashes with belt Every Single Day for over 6 years. Every. Single. Day. I never was worried about the frequent squirrel and deer lunges, trusted in the leashes. The only reason I am buying replacement ones is because 1. The plastic buckle on the waist belt finally cracked, and the handles on the leads pulled out. The leashes are themselves are still rock solid. Highly highly recommend!

Great Leash - too good for a trained dog

Quality and functionality of the leash is beyond expectation. For experienced runners and a trained dog the leash is too heavy. I would recommend the product to anyone with a large breed dog that isn't trained. However, if the dog has commands in place and knows position behind runner and doesn't pull the Iron Doggy leash is becomes too heavy and bounces off the leg regardless of waist strap position. Intuitively you would shorten the leash but on trails with a large breed dog you not longer have the safe spacing needed. Either way -- awesome leash with a small gripe. I have 1 month with the leash 4-5x week running. After this years triathlon and Ultra marathon training I will get back to you on how the leash performed and if my user proficiency improves my opinion.

Great solid leash

I originally was looking for a running leash locally and had found them for $30. It was basic and didn't thing it was worth $30 and thought i needed a lesser expensive one. I had asked for recommendations from my local running group and they had recommended this one. Obviously it was more than i had intended to spend. But i had ordered it and i love it. It's solid and made in the US. I like the handles on the end and middle that allow me to pull my pup closer when needed.

Two is better than one!

We bought an additional set and an additional lead to accommodate both dogs at the same time. Best running leash on the market! Engineered to perfection!

Happy at first, but quality issues

Overall I was happy with the leash and had recommended it to numerous others. However, I have experienced quality issues which Customer Service told me were "normal wear". The waist belt has "rolled" and no longer holds its shape - making it quite uncomfortable. Also, the stitching on the leash (area where the black & red bungee meet) is fraying and is nearly pulling apart.

For $70 (what I paid in CDN dollars), I did expect this product to last longer and am disappointed that this happened. I will not be purchasing another.

We've talked to many customers who bought cheap knock-offs of our running leashes, only to find out that they aren't up for the job. That won't happen with an Iron Doggy. In the extremely unlikely event that you aren't completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it to us and we’ll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Iron Doggy ships USPS Priority Mail within the United States, and we charge the flat shipping rate of $7.25. We do our best to get your order to you within 5 business days.

Outside of the United States, we ship USPS First Class. Depending on the location, the shipping charge is $13.95 to $18.95. While we wish it weren't true, it can take 3 to 4 weeks for international shipments to arrive.
