I have both versions of the Iron Doggy running leashes. I started with the longer, heavy duty version and thought this one would be perfect. The other leash gives my dog just enough wander room to not trip me up on my training runs on the trails... however this one was just too short for running as he was always getting under my feet.
Maybe add 12” and it would be better?
Still an awesome leash, light weight and I love it, but I would use this one maybe for walking and not my training runs.
If your dog stays right by your side and heels this might work for you, but my dog runs about as straight as i do hahahahahaha
Using this leash for my Beagle/pit mix. He is about 48 lbs. The handles make it so easy to control him if needed and the bungee helps with pulling (since he runs faster than I do). Totally worth it!!
Great product and perfect for my small but mighty puppy who loves to run and gets distracted—this keeps us both on the straight and narrow!
Great running belt, perfect length for my dog who runs right by my side!
I bought the sidekick leash and belt and an extra leash to run my two dogs. I had previously bought the regular leash but found it too long for running dogs on the side of me. To accomdate the second leash I had to add another metal snap hook to the belt. The quality of the leash and belts are very good. However, I would like the sidekick to be shorter than it is or to have some adjustment loops like the regular leash does. It is still a bit long to keep the dogs on the side. The dogs tend to want to riun a bit in front with the extra slack. I’ve started attaching the snap hook to a narrow part further down the leash below the handle, and that seems to work. It would also be useful to be able to anchor the snap hooks to a particular spot(s) on the belt so the snap does not slide around on the belt during a run. Overall a good product.
We've talked to many customers who bought cheap knock-offs of our running leashes, only to find out that they aren't up for the job. That won't happen with an Iron Doggy. In the extremely unlikely event that you aren't completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it to us and we’ll give you a full refund. No questions asked.
